Librarians,

What I think librarians do is that they help people in the library of course and they show people how to do research in the library. Some of them don’t really do much, but when they have a class, they teach them how to look up books in the library or they help find a specific book. By this, it means that they can be very helpful when it comes down to the library basics. Some of them teach actual classes on how to do things on the computer and how to look up things on Google and such.
I would think it would be cool if a librarian had super powers, and helped look up a book just from memories and they could be the ultimate resource person to go to. It would be awesome if the teacher could read you a book just from his/ her mind too because that way you wouldn’t have to go look for the book and they wouldn’t have to waste a lot of paper. In the future I think that the librarians are going to become super women, and they’re just going to be women and have installed a new device that Google created so that the librarians can look up something in their brains. To me that’s what I picture librarians looking like and being like. Maybe I’m wrong, but it would still be cool if that would happen. Another way I picture them is super smart, and them having to go to special librarian school to train and have that special chip installed.

  1. Hi Yiara! Librarians do have a variety of roles - you have highlighted a few here. One of the most rewarding things I do is work with doctors and nurses around the state, helping them to provide accurate health information to their patients. It's really fun to go out and meet people working in large urban hospitals, or small rural clinics hundreds of miles from anything!

Having super powers would be awesome! I do think understanding how to access information is a start :) I think your Google brain device is awesome - maybe everyone, in every industry could get one. Anymore, there are just as many male librarians as there are females.

Hope you are having a great time in the pre-collegiate program and finding some time for fun this summer!
